Evansdale Library at West Virginia University has been a depository since 1991. The Evansdale Library serves Engineering, Agriculture, Forestry and Consumer Sciences, Education, Creative Arts and Physical Education. Independent as well as university inventors come to the Evansdale Library for assistance.
The Evansdale Library at West Virginia University underwent extensive first floor renovations since May 2009. We recently had a February reception to celebrate the renovation. Our Library was closed in the summer although I continued to provide Patent & Trademark assistance on and off campus. The Library reopened in August, with the renovations not yet complete. Changes that affected the Patent and Trademark collection included moving the collection to a more prominent place in the library, moving microfilm off site, and moving the CASSIS workstation and DVDs to the Ground level of the library. Although this splits the collection, the prominence of the Patent area on the first floor with an Internet connected computer offsets the inconvenience of the location of the CASSIS workstation.

I created a display in conjunction with World Intellectual Property Day entitled, “Going Green: World Intellectual Property Day and Earth Day.” In October I presented “Understanding the Essentials of Intellectual Property” at the West Virginia Library Association Annual Meeting. In January I was invited to re-present to staff at West Virginia Libraries during an in-service day.
