In May 2009, our PTDL was pleased to host “Researching Patent & Trademark Information” a seminar conducted by Tom Turner and Michael Hydorn of the PTDLP office. We are still receiving positive feedback from the seminar and our staff continues to benefit from the valuable training we received.

After more than seven years of work, we have completed the Alabama Inventors Database http://bpldb.bplonline.org/db/inventors -- the database now includes more than 37,000 records covering the years 1821 to the present. We will continue to add inventors each week and efforts will continue to identify women and African-American inventors from Alabama.

In addition, the “Alabama Inventors: Additional Resources” bibliography continues to grow with additional resources for more than 600 of Alabama’s inventors.
